[2017] Response to Sharing Intimate Images Without Consent Discussion

In 2016 Youth Action provided a brief submission to the Attorney General regarding 'Revenge Porn' - the non-consensual sharing of intimate content. We highlighted the gaps and legal inconsistencies in the form of protection and address for young people who fall victim to non-consensual sharing of intimate images. We called for legal and policy responses to such cyber-bullying and revenge porn to be strengthened. We encouraged a balance to protect those subject to 'revenge porn' and avoiding unnecessary criminalisation of young people.
