What's Up West? Is a biennial event organised by young people for young people.
A platform created by Youth Action NSW, over two action-packed days from Oct 31 - Nov 1 in Parramatta 300 young people from across Greater Western Sydney came together in Parramatta to be inspired and learn skills to change their life, their community and the world. This years theme, Our Time is Now, got the young people to think about how they are not just leaders of the future, but they are leaders now!
Keep an eye out for the next edition of What's Up West? which will launch in 2021! Details can be found at the bottom of the page for how to stay updated and be involved in the next event.

What issues are young people in Western Sydney passionate about?
Overwhelmingly, the issue that young people in Western Sydney are most concerned about is climate change, sustainability and the environment. When asked about issues within their own community young people’s biggest concerns are racism and cultural disrespect. They love the diversity and vibrancy of the Western Sydney community (and the food!). Many young people feel unsafe at night because of a lack of lighting. There is a lot of concern about the disparity in funding for public and private schools in the West. However across the board, the young people at What’s Up West? 2019 are passionate about how Western Sydney is changing and growing and have lots of ideas on how to meet its challenges.
